TDA Values
At Tankerton Dance & Drama, we believe every child deserves a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where they can develop confidence, creativity, discipline and a lifelong love of the performing arts. Every policy within this handbook supports our commitment to providing outstanding performing arts education while placing the welfare of every child at the heart of everything we do.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Tankerton Dance & Drama Ltd (“TDA”, “we”, “our” or “us”).
These Terms & Conditions explain the agreement between Tankerton Dance & Drama Ltd and the parent, guardian or adult student (“you”).
By enrolling in any class, workshop, holiday camp, examination, performance or event organised by TDA, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. About Us
Tankerton Dance & Drama Ltd provides performing arts education including, but not limited to:
- Dance
- Drama
- Musical Theatre
- Singing
- Acting for Screen
- LAMDA
- ISTD
- Workshops
- Holiday Camps
- Performances
- Private Lessons
- Competitions
3. Registration
All students must complete a registration form before attending classes.
Parents are responsible for ensuring all information remains accurate, including:
- Address
- Telephone numbers
- Email address
- Emergency contacts
- Medical conditions
- Allergies
- Medication
- Additional learning needs
- Collection permissions
You must notify us immediately if any information changes.
4. Trial Classes
Where offered:
- Each child may attend one free trial unless otherwise stated.
- A place cannot be guaranteed until registration is completed.
- Attending a trial does not automatically enrol a student.
- TDA reserves the right to refuse or withdraw trial places.
5. Enrolment
A student’s place is confirmed once:
- Registration has been completed;
- The student has been accepted by TDA;
- Payment arrangements have been agreed.
Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
6. Fees
Fees are charged in accordance with the published fee schedule.
Payment may be collected by:
- Monthly Direct Debit
- Card payment
- Bank Transfer
- Other approved methods
Fees remain payable unless notice has been given in accordance with our Cancellation Policy.
7. Late Payments
If payment is overdue:
- reminders may be issued;
- access to classes may be suspended;
- examination entries or performances may be withheld until the account is brought up to date.
We will always try to resolve payment issues fairly before taking further action.
8. Cancellation by Parents
If you wish to withdraw from classes:
- written notice must be provided;
- the required notice period is outlined in our Cancellation & Refund Policy;
- outstanding fees remain payable until the end of the notice period.
9. Cancellation by TDA
TDA reserves the right to:
- cancel classes;
- merge classes;
- change venues;
- change teachers;
- alter timetables;
- cancel events due to circumstances beyond our control.
Where appropriate we will offer:
- an alternative class;
- a credit;
- a refund where legally required.
10. Attendance
Students should attend regularly.
If a student is unable to attend, parents should notify us through Class Manager or by email as soon as possible.
Missed classes are generally non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise.
11. Student Behaviour
Students are expected to:
- treat everyone with kindness and respect;
- follow teacher instructions;
- behave safely;
- respect equipment and facilities;
- avoid bullying or disruptive behaviour.
Persistent poor behaviour may result in suspension or removal from TDA.
12. Parent Behaviour
Parents are expected to:
- treat staff respectfully;
- support TDA policies;
- communicate concerns appropriately;
- avoid abusive or aggressive behaviour.
TDA reserves the right to terminate membership where behaviour towards staff or other families is unacceptable.
13. Health & Medical Information
Parents must inform TDA of:
- medical conditions;
- allergies;
- medication;
- injuries;
- additional support needs.
Failure to provide accurate information may affect our ability to support your child safely.
14. Photography & Video
Photography and filming are managed in accordance with our Photography Policy.
Parents will be able to choose their consent preferences during registration.
15. Safeguarding
The welfare of children is our highest priority.
All safeguarding concerns are managed in accordance with TDA’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies.
16. Uniform
Students may be required to wear the correct uniform for classes, examinations and performances.
Full details are available in our Uniform Policy.
17. Examinations
Entry into examinations is at the discretion of the teaching staff.
Examination fees are payable separately unless otherwise stated.
Entry does not guarantee a pass.
18. Performances
Participation in performances is encouraged but may not always be compulsory.
Additional rehearsal schedules, costume requirements and performance fees may apply.
19. Holiday Camps
Holiday camps are subject to separate Terms & Conditions.
20. Personal Property
Students bring belongings at their own risk.
TDA accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage unless required by law.
21. Limitation of Liability
While reasonable care is taken to provide a safe environment, participation in physical activity carries an inherent risk of injury.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.
22. Data Protection
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection legislation.
23. Changes to these Terms
TDA may update these Terms from time to time.
The latest version will always be available on our website and through Class Manager.
