Acting Classes

Storytellers & Scene Stealers – Acting for stage 11-14s and 15-18s
For those who enjoy drama classes and want to focus purely on the acting element, join us for our acting for stage class. In these sessions we will teach the principles of acting and the different techniques we use when performing on stage. We will focus on script and scene work, characterisation and ensemble as well as also introducing the children to other stage disciplines like improvisation and devising. These sessions will run in a 3 term structure. Autumn term will focus on small group work and will culminate in an informal showing in their final week of term. In the Spring term the children will work with our teachers to devise their own piece of theatre to perform it in their final session of the term. In Summer term, alongside their continued work on skills, the children will perform a scripted show for their final performance of the academic year.

Take Ones – Acting for Screen 15+
For children aged 15-18, this class offers an opportunity to work on the different style of acting for film and television. In these classes we will work in more detail on script preparation as well as focusing on how we would tailor our acting performance for screen. We will also teach the children about self tape audition techniques and try our hand at recording, watching back and critiquing our work.
